In Memory Of
Mike R. Warnesky
1947 - 2019

Michael Richard Warnesky, 71, of Shawnee, passed away on November 1, 2019 at his home.

He was born on December 11, 1947 to Michael and Ann (Mindos) Warnesky in New Brunswick, NJ.

Mike was proud to serve for 4 years in the United States Air Force including a deployment in Japan. He worked as a Production Planner Manager for CertainTeed and also delivered supplies for State Beauty part-time.

On February 20, 1994, he married Karen Sue Warnesky (Mason). Mike and Karen lived in Shawnee, Kansas with their beloved dog Darby. You would often find them enjoying a meal and a game at one of the local restaurants and every October they would visit their favorite vacation spot, Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Mike enjoyed his part-time job at State Beauty where he met and visited with many clients. He was an avid sports fan that loved the New York Giants, Kansas Jayhawks, and any team his grandkids were playing on. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren giving each one a silly nickname as well as singing the ever so famous song by the Beatles “Yellow Submarine”. Mike was known for his quick wit, funny jokes and great storytelling.

Mike is survived by his loving Wife, Karen; step-sons, Eric (Marsha) Milstead of Olathe, and Brian (Kim) Milstead of Olathe; son, Michael Warnesky of Bridgewater, NJ; daughter, Renee Twardzik of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Dennis (Stephanie) Warnesky of California; nephew, Jason Warnesky of California; niece, Lynn Warnesky-Baker of California; and grandchildren, Jared, Peyton, Kyle, Delaney, Hunter, Madisynn, and Leyah Milstead.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Warnesky.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 5-7PM at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Olathe, Kansas.
