Charlene Berniece Hogan, 81, of Lenexa, (formerly of Topeka) passed away on September 20, 2019 at Sunrise Senior Living of Lenexa.

She was born on December 22, 1937 to Herbert and Bernice Elliott in Horton, KS, and graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1955.
She went on to attend Clarks Business School in Topeka, KS, graduating in 1956.

On August 3, 1958, she married James Hubert Hogan, and they made their home in Topeka, Kansas. Charlene enjoyed her career with Drs. Carol and Clyde Rousey and the Menninger Foundation for over 25 years, before her retirement in 1990.

Charlene and Jim were long-time members of the New Hope United Methodist Church in Topeka,KS. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, playing cards with her friends at Bloom Senior Living, spending time in Branson with Jim, taking as many cruises as possible, rooting for her K-State Wildcats, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving family includes her loving husband, Jim, daughter Denise Jones (Tim), and son Brian Hogan (Cathy), grandchildren Lindsey Pryor (Will), Kevin Jones (Bridget Steichen), Cole Hogan, Tiffanie Hild (Josh), Tia Qureshi (Oz), and great-grandchildren Lincoln, Jones, Maris, McCartney, Maddux, Alexis, Addiyah, and Adonis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harold Elliott.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019, 6:00-8:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel, 14275 S Black Bob Rd, Olathe, KS.
Graveside Service will take place on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 10:00 am in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, 6th & Gage, Topeka, KS.
