In Memory Of
Kim Rowley
1955 - 2019

Kimmie Dean Rowley, 63, of Raymore, died on September 8, 2019 of colon cancer. He is now in heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While we grieve his passing, we are comforted in the hope that we will be reunited together with him. Kim was born on November 13, 1955 at Kirkland AFB, Bermuda.

Kim was an avid horseman belonging to the American Quarter Horse Association and working as the Youth Show Manager for the American Royal for over 25 years. In 2009, he was honored as Horseperson of the Year. His other love was the game of golf. On September 24, 2013 he achieved a lifelong goal, a hole in one! He played in his last tournament on May 11 with his wife, son, and friend Joe.

Kim was incredibly generous and consistently thought of others. Each year he wanted to contribute to our Sunday School class fund that raised money for others at Christmas time. To honor his memory and example, in lieu of flowers, consider a donation to KC First Church marked Disciples-Christmas for Others in his memory.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Rowley and mother, Betty Rowley. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Rowley; son, Kasey Rowley (Jessica) and two grandchildren, Kaiya and Kadyn; father, Ken Rowley; brothers Steve (Lanetta) Rowley, Kip (Renee) Rowley, Kevin Rowley; sister Kristie Rowley; sister-in-law Rita Croney (Erman); brother-in-law Bobby Romans (Brenda); along with many nieces and nephews. Kim loved his family fiercely and enjoyed spending time with them.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Black Bob Road, Olathe, KS. The funeral will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 19 at KC First Church of the Nazarene, 11901 State Line where Kim and Rachel attended for the last 15 years. Burial to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 9501 W 159th Street, Overland Park, KS.
