Karen Meyer, 66, of Olathe, KS, formerly of Salina, KS, passed July 16, 2019. Visitation will be 10-11a.m. Sat. July 20 at Grace United Methodist Church, Olathe, KS. The funeral service will follow at 11a.m. She will be laid to rest at Bala Cemetery in Riley County, KS.

Karen was born August 12, 1952 in Clay Center, Kansas to Leonard and Shirley Leidig. She graduated from Clay Center High School and Marymount College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Her passion for people and her caring nature began as a nurse in Salina, KS, and she later worked as an executive for patient care services at one of the largest Catholic health care systems in Kansas. She volunteered her time delivering food for Meals on Wheels and working at food pantries in the communities with which she lived. She loved gardening, quilting, watching and attending sporting events and most of all, spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Steven. She is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years Robert “Bob” Meyer and their children Lisa Meyer Harper (Rob) of Papillion, NE and Brian Meyer (Carla) of Olathe, KS and four grandchildren, Avery, AJ, Robert and Kyle.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.nationalmssociety.org).
