Thelma J. Clark, 88, of Olathe, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 30, 2019. She was born on July 6, 1930 to William and Ruth (Rasmussen) Hotchkiss in Concordia, KS.

Thelma Clark was born in Concordia, Kansas where her father pastored the Concordia Wesleyan Church. They lived in Concordia and several other communities during her father’s ministry. Thelma and her twin sister, Velma, attended Miltonvale High School and college in Miltonvale, KS, where she received her high school diploma and Associate’s degree. While attending Miltonvale, she continued a friendship and later dated Yorton Clark. Yorton and Thelma were married August 3, 1950. Yorton became an ordained pastor of the Wesleyan Church. Their 50+ years in the ministry lead them to the following communities: Athens, OH, Rudd, IA, Albert Lee, MN, Dayton, OH, Lansing, MI, Ottawa, KS. They finished their ministry planting the Olathe Wesleyan Church in Olathe, KS. Thelma resided in Olathe, KS and continued her ministry supporting the Olathe Wesleyan Church.

Thelma loved her Bible Studies, giving piano lessons, leading church choir, playing piano and organ at church, crocheting and crafts, scrapbooking and traveling to see family.

Thelma is survived by her loving children, Barbara (Taryl) Lamb, Dayton, OH, Patricia (Michael) Broughton, North Vernon, IN, Susie (Gene) Hosler, Germantown, OH, Karen (JJ) Martinez, Spring, TX, Yorton Jr (Janean) Clark, Spring Hill, KS; grandchildren, Lorena Vazquez, Javier Martinez, Jenny Moseley, Stephen Lamb Jr., Joshua Broughton, Paige Hosler, Nathan Lamb, Shelly Terry, Britten Cox, Matthew Lamb, Yorton Martinez, Kristi Yates, Joey Martinez, Yorton Clark III, Bud Hosler, Kiley Hofer, Bristol Clark, Braden Clark; great-grandchildren, Carlos Parra, Haydee Vazquez, Annabelle Moseley, Natalia Vazquez, Erick Vazquez, Baley Cox, Emily Lamb, Alex Sauceda, Andrea Parra, Noah Broughton, Lauren Lamb, William Terry, Brantley Cox, Rachel Lamb, Olivia Lamb, Jack Broughton, Cole Yates, Stephen Lamb III, Wyatt Terry, Rebekah Lamb, Benjamin Lamb, Elisabeth Lamb, Abigail Lamb, Brady Yates, Kate Terry, Callan Cox, Rhett Hofer, Finn Hofer, Scottie Seymour, Maddison Peck And Gwendolyn Peck

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Yorton Clark Sr.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at the Olathe Weslyan Church.
