Roger served in the U.S Army for 23 years, he was a Sergeant First Class and worked in food service as Mess Sergeant. He was also an insurance salesman for Mutual of Omaha and ran a landscaping business until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Prince of Peace. His hobbies were golf, bowling and travel.
Roger is survived by his loving daughters Tammy Collins, Annette Studer, Robin Studer, and Shawn Studer; grandson Matthew Ray Collins; sisters Kathleen Goerlitz, Marlene Spargo, Darlene Fanning, Pauline Mitchell, and Jean Gill.
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Studer, father Harold Studer and mother Lucille Studer.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, 10:00 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe, with the funeral mass following at 11:00 am. Burial will take place in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. There will be a luncheon following the graveside at Prince of Peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave, Kansas City, MO 64105 or to the Olathe Hospice House, 15310 S Marion St, Olathe, KS 66061.
